Local Law Enforcement
Approximately 50 cars have been smeared with what seems to be blood from a person in the German town of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.
Cars, walls and postal boxes were vandalized, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they announced in a official communication.
Police state they were alerted during the night on Wednesday night, when a man noticed that a vehicle in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been marked with a reddish liquid.
The fluid had been drawn in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they added.
Police then located multiple other marked cars and house walls in the nearby vicinity.
These symbols are prohibited in Germany under laws prohibiting the visible presentation of Nazi-era symbols.
Police say initial examinations indicate the substance was likely human bodily fluid.
"At present there remains no clue as to its origin; officials are not yet cognizant of any physical harm in association with the event," they commented.
Local authorities said they were attempting "to resolve the incident" and have asked to the residents for details.
A high-ranking official commented the attack left him stunned and needed to be addressed rapidly.
"This act hits the center of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the right-wing terrorist attack in 2020," he stated on a platform, recalling the murder of nine people by a gunman aiming at individuals of immigrant origin in 2020.
